application(s)

petroleum

Analysis Note

This application illustrates the analysis of a sample of reformulated gasoline on the Equity-1 column. Due to the nonpolar nature of the phase, there is a great deal of overlap in the elution ranges of the aliphatic and aromatic portions of this highly complex sample. Benzene is not baseline resolved even on a 60 m column. For this reason, this phase could not be used by itself for the analysis of benzene in this sample.
