Anti-Synuclein β antibody detects endogenous levels of total Synuclein β protein.
The SNCB (synuclein β) gene is mapped to the chromosome 5q35.2. Synuclein β is known to localize along with synuclein α in the presynaptic region of the brain. It contains KTKXGV repeats at its N-terminal, highly acidic and solubilizing region at its C-terminal and a non-amyloid-β component.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Synuclein beta.
Immunogen Range: 85-134
Biochem/physiol Actions
Synuclein β reduces the effects of synuclein α toxicity in a dose dependent manner by preventing its accumulation. Synuclein β normally, does not form fibrils.
