Immunogen
human myoglobin from skeletal muscle.
Application
Anti-Myoglobin antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for immunoblotting at a dilution of 1:500 -1:1000.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Myoglobin is an oxygen binding, cytoplasmic hemoprotein expressed in cardiomyocytes and skeletal muscle fibers. Myoglobin has high affinity for oxygen and is an ideal candidate for short term storage and delivery of oxygen in hypoxic conditions.
Reconstitution
Dilute with buffer: 0.05 M borate, pH 7.8, 5% normal rabbit serum and 15 mM sodium azide.

We examined the myofibril biochemical, structural, and biophysical properties of C2C12, a mouse skeletal muscle cell line (American Type Culture Collection), to assess whether force development and the sensitivity of the myofilaments to calcium could be measured in C2C12 myotubes

In fishes, performance failure at high temperature is thought to be due to a limitation on oxygen delivery (the theory of oxygen and capacity limited thermal tolerance, OCLTT), which suggests that thermal tolerance and hypoxia tolerance might be functionally associated.

All of our previous work, and that of other investigators, shows that the trout heart only partially recovers following brief exposure to severe hypoxia or anoxia (i.e. it is hypoxia-sensitive). However, in preliminary studies, we found evidence to suggest that

Glutathione (GSH) is one of the most extensively studied tripeptides. The roles for GSH in redox signaling, detoxification of xenobiotics and antioxidant defense have been investigated. A drug-induced rhabdomyolysis mouse model was recently established in L-buthionine-(S,R)-sulfoximine (BSO; a GSH synthesis
