General description

Anti-HNE Fluorophore, rabbit polyclonal, recognizes the HNE-derived chromphohore of the 2:1 lysine-HNE-fluorophore. It is validated for use in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
Rabbit polyclonal antibody supplied as diluted serum. Recognizes the HNE-derived chromophore of the 2:1 lysine-HNE fluorophore.
Recognizes the HNE-derived chromphohore of the 2:1 lysine-HNE-fluorophore.

Immunogen

a 2:1 Nα-acetyllysine-HNE fluorophore, conjugated to KLH

Application

ELISA (1:500-1:1000)

Immunoblotting (1:1000-1:5000)

Immunohistochemistry (1:100-1:500)

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Physical form

Serum diluted 1:1 with glycerol.

Reconstitution

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-70°C).

Other Notes

Due to the small epitope size, overnight incubation with the antibody greatly increases sensitivity by immunoblotting. Determined by competitive ELISA and immunoblotting to recognize the chromophore structure of fluorophore derived from the reaction of 4-HNE with primary amines. Does not recognize 1:1 cysteine-, 1:1 histidine-, or 1:1 lysine-HNE Michael Adducts. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

Many nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals have been shown to promote healthspan and lifespan. However, the mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of prolongevity interventions and the time points at which interventions should be implemented to achieve beneficial effects are not well characterized.
