General description
The test can be used in
- Disinfectant and rinsing solutions (e. g. laundries)
- Aqueous solutions
- Process water
- Electroplating wastewater
- Food after appropriate sample pretreatment
Method
Formaldehyde reacts with 4-amino-3-hydrazino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole to form a purple-red tetrazine. The formaldehyde concentration is measured semiquantitatively by allocating the color to a value on a reference scale.
Application
- A novel dual-responsive colorimetric/fluorescent probe for the detection of N(2)H(4) and ClO(-) and its application in environmental analysis and bioimaging: This study introduces an innovative dual-responsive probe using the Hydrazine Test, highlighting its utility in environmental monitoring and biological imaging. This development offers substantial advancements in detecting and analyzing hydrazine and hypochlorite, critical for ensuring chemical safety and environmental health (Lv et al., 2024).
- New 1,8-naphthalimide-based colorimetric fluorescent probe for specific detection of hydrazine and its multi-functional applications: This publication directly relates to Hydrazine Testing, detailing the development of a specific probe for hydrazine detection. The study showcases the critical role of Hydrazine Test kits in ensuring safe handling and accurate monitoring of hydrazine levels in various industrial and research applications (Lu et al., 2024).
