Phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate (PI(3,4)P2) is a signaling molecule, which might promote actin aggregation and neuritogenesis. PI(3,4)P2 is associated with proteins and enzymes involved in signal transduction and the cytoskeleton. It is essential for the enzyme action of phospholipase D and ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF).
