Capillary GC column is also known as open tubular column. The carrier gas flows through the central aperture and is unrestricted throughout the length of the column.[1] PTA-5 Capillary GC Column is a specially treated nonpolar capillary column, and is primarily dedicated towards amino compounds.[2]

Application

PTA-5 Capillary GC Column was used in solidphase microextraction (SPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, performed for the analysis and screening of 21 amphetamine-related compounds in urine.[2]

    1. The columns, including the PTA-5, a 5% phenyl/95% methyl silicone phase, the Carbowax Amine (non-bonded) column, and the SPB-1 Sulfur column, are used for GC analysis of basic compounds. The SPB-1 Sulfur column is primarily intended for applications involving sulfur compounds but can also be used for sulfur amines, as illustrated in the attached document.
