The use of Mya arenaria as a new sensitive biomonitor of butyltins pollution in the oceanic system was investigated. Field survey indicated that much higher levels of butyltin compounds were found in M. arenaria compared with the other species investigated.
Food additives and contaminants, 20(5), 445-452 (2003-05-31)
Butyltin was found in 62 of 74 mollusc products purchased from major supermarket outlets in seven cities across Canada. Tribuyltin was detected in 41 samples, with levels up to 233 ng g(-1). Dibutyltin and monobutyltin levels ranged up to 88
Journal of chromatography. A, 1185(1), 130-138 (2008-02-19)
In this work, making use of experimental designs, headspace-stir bar sorptive extraction (HS-SBSE) followed by thermal desorption (TD) coupled to a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for the simultaneous determination of mercury and tin organometallic compounds present in surface water, sediment
Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 370(7), 872-877 (2001-09-25)
A fast and simple procedure is presented for the simultaneous leaching of butyl (mono, di and tributyl) and phenyl organotin species from sediment samples. Leached compounds are further ethylated with sodium tetraethylborate in aqueous medium, and analyzed by gas chromatography.
The in vivo induction of hepatotoxicity, as evaluated by the activity of ornithine carbamyl transferase in serum, was investigated in mice administered orally with the following three butyltin compounds: tributyltin chloride (TBTC), dibutyltin dichloride (DBTC) and monobutyltin trichloride (MBTC).
