General description

Anti-Claudin 2 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Claudin 2 protein.
Claudin-2 is one of the pore-forming claudins. It is a member of the claudin family of proteins. Claudin-2 is present in the proximal tubules. It is mapped to human chromosome Xq22.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Claudin 2.

Immunogen Range: 181-230

Application

Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Immunohistochemistry (1 paper)

Biochem/physiol Actions

The tetraspan membrane protein encoded by claudin multigene controls paracellular permeability and maintaining cell polarity in epithelial and endothelial cell sheets. In MDCK (madin-darby canine kidney cells) II cells, claudin-2 participates in the generation of aqueous pores with high conductance.
