General description

Anti-heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) antibody, mouse monoclonal (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the BRM-22 hybridoma, produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mouse immunized with purified bovine brain HSP70. Monoclonal Anti-heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) specifically recognizes HSP70 from bovine, mouse, monkey, dog, human, rat, chicken, octopus, insects, plant, fish, rabbit and sea urchin origin.
HSP70 / heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 1A (HSPA1A), is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 6p21.33. It is widely expressed in all tissues. The encoded protein is characterized with an N-terminal ATPase domain of 45kDa and a C-terminal substrate binding domain of 25kDa which is further subdivided into a β-sandwich subdomain of 15kDa and a C-terminal α-helical subdomain.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The members of Hsp70 protein family are implicated in various cellular processes and are required for the response to environmental changes and survival. These proteins are essential constituents of the cellular network of molecular chaperones and folding catalysts. Hsp70 plays a vital role in several folding processes, such as the folding and assembly of newly synthesized proteins, refolding of misfolded and aggregated proteins. In addition, it also facilitates membrane translocation of organellar and secretory proteins and regulate the activity of regulatory proteins. Aberrations in the gene expression leads to skin color diversity.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

Other Notes

In order to obtain best results in different techniques and preparations we recommend determining optimal working concentration by titration test.
