General description
Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) is a type II pleiotropic cytokine which is secreted by the thymus-derived (T) cells. It participates in innate and adaptive immune responses. IFN-γ is involved in the functioning and maturation of several immune cells. It plays a role in the T-helper (Th1) immune response and regulates T cell activation, differentiation, homeostasis, and survival. The antibody pair provided in this kit recognizes Rhesus IFN-γ.

Interferon gamma (IFN-gamma), a pleotropic cytokine, has been shown to be important to the function of virtually all immune cells and both innate and adaptive immune responses. In 1986, early clinical trials of this cytokine began to evaluate its therapeutic

Interferons are cytokines that play a complex and central role in the resistance of mammalian hosts to pathogens. Type I interferon (IFN-alpha and IFN-beta) is secreted by virus-infected cells. Immune, type II, or gamma-interferon (IFN-gamma) is secreted by thymus-derived (T)
