General description

See transmission curve labelled D
These cuvettes have four optically clear sides.

Note: polystyrene and polymethacrylate cuvettes are incompatible with some organic solvents.

Application

Fluorimeter cuvette may be used :
  • to perform a fluorimetric assay of the hepatic microsomal O-dealkylation reaction, using ethoxyresorufin (7-ethoxyphenoxazone) as a model substrate for the assay.[1]
  • in the cationic liposome-mediated gene transfer method, done in order to deduce the role of helper lipids.[2]
  • in the fluorescence experiment modified in the Silber-Porter method, for estimation of corticosterone in rat plasma.[3]
  • in fluorimeteric assay for membrane potential to determine membrane depolarization in study done to elucidate the role of membrane potential in the mechanism of action of daptomycin.[4]

Compatibility

Not compatible with some organic solvents.

In the procedure for cationic liposome-mediated transfection, the cationic lipid is usually mixed with a "helper lipid" to increase its transfection potency. The importance of helper lipids, including dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (dioleoyl PE), DO was examined. Freeze-fracture electron microscopy
