General description

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is a water-soluble chelating agent that can form complexes with metal ions.It is useful for metal ion detection and water treatment

Application

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid can be used:
  • As a chelating agent in the preparation of ferromagnetic BiFeO3 nanoparticles by sol-gel process.
  • As a mobile phase in chromatographic separation of rare earth elements.
  • To functionalize the Au nanoparticles, which are used as probes in the colorimetric estimation of chromium(III) ions in solution.
