Application

Mannan-agarose is used in protein chromatography, affinity chromatography and carbohydrate matrices. Mannan-agarose has been used in studies assessing poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation of mannose-binding lectin out of human kidney cells and to inform mannose-associated serine protease (MASP) activated components of the coagulation system. Mannan-agarose has also been used to study the innate immunity and resistance to Aeromonas salmonicida exhibited by the sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus), a parasitic cartilaginous fish of the North American Great Lakes and a predator of many bony fish species of commercial importance to the fishing industry. Mannan-Agarose has been used to deplete rabbit anti-mannose-binding lectin (MBL) polyclonal antiserum of anti-mannan antibodies.

Complement plays a significant role in mediating endothelial injury following oxidative stress. We have previously demonstrated that the lectin complement pathway (LCP), which is initiated by deposition of the mannose-binding lectin (MBL), is largely responsible for activating complement on endothelial

The mouse (m) DC-SIGN family consists of several homologous type II transmembrane proteins located in close proximity on chromosome 8 and having a single carboxyl terminal carbohydrate recognition domain. We first used transfected non-macrophage cell lines to compare the polysaccharide

A lipopolysaccharide-specific lectin, immulectin-2, was isolated from plasma of the tobacco hornworm, Manduca sexta. Immulectin-2 has specificity for xylose, glucose, lipopolysaccharide, and mannan. A cDNA clone encoding immulectin-2 was isolated from an Escherichia coli-induced M. sexta larval fat body cDNA
