General description

IL2 (interleukin 2) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine, which is predominantly synthesized by activated T-cells and dendritic cells (DCs). T-cells also act as effector of IL-2 as they contain the interleukin 2 receptor (IL2R). This gene is localized to human chromosome 4q27, and codes for a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 14-17kDa.

Recombinant interleukin 2

Application

Anti-Interleukin-2 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for the production of anti-IL2 surface-conjugated microtoroids. It is suitable for indirect ELISA and western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an interleukin and is a cytokine signaling molecule in the immune system. It plays an important role in signal transduction for biological functions of IL-2. Upregulation of IL-2 combined with activation of IL-2-dependent signaling pathways may contribute to the pathogenesis of Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD). Aerosol interleukin-2 (IL-2) increases the number of intravenously injected human natural killer (NK) cells in the lungs by stimulating local NK cell proliferation. The effect on NK cell proliferation is organ specific, which makes it ideal for the specific targeting of lung metastasis.

Although FOXP3+ regulatory T cells (Treg) depend on IL-2 produced by other cells for their survival and function, the levels of IL-2 in inflamed tissue are low, making it unclear how Treg access this critical resource. Here, we show that
