Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal extracellular domain of human endothelin B receptor, conjugated to KLH. The immunizing peptide has 79% homology with the mouse gene and 84% homology with the rat gene.

Application

Anti-Endothelin B Receptor antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for the following applications:
  • Immunocytochemistry at a concentration of 4-11μg/mL using human adrenal tissue
  • Immunohistochemistry (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections) at a concentration of 4-11μg/mL using human adrenal tissue
  • Western blotting
  • Immunofluorescence

Biochem/physiol Actions

EDNRB Endothelin receptor type B (ETB) is a protein encoded by the EDNRB gene in humans. It plays a pivotal role in oesophageal cancer and may act as a therapeutic target for this intractable malignancy. It has a novel role in oligodendroglioma proliferation and acts as a potential therapeutic alternative for oligodendrogliomas. Lower expression of ETB receptor responsiveness is associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and may reflect lower endothelial-mediated vasodilatation independent of generally lower vascular reactivity.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.7, containing 0.1% sodium azide.
