General description

Sibiricose A5, a hydroxycinnamic acid, belongs to group of compounds known as phenylpropenoyl sucroses. This bioactive natural product is commonly available from Sibiricum sp., Polygala tenuifolia and Lilium speciosum plants. It exhibits various biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, neuroprotective and anti-oxidant properties.

Application

It is a natural product derived from plant source that finds application in compound screening libraries, metabolomics, phytochemical, and pharmaceutical research.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Sibiricose A5 has potent antioxidant activity. It is a lactate dehydrogenase inhibitor, it displays antidepressant-like actions and it is active against Alzheimer′s disease.
