Cell Line Description

Derived from malignant cells of a pleural effusion of 37 year old caucasian male with diffuse histiocytic lymphoma. One of only a few human lines still expressing many of the monocytic like characteristics exhibited by cells of histiocytic origin.

Application

Tumourigenicity studies
U937 Cell Line human has been used to study the toxicity of propolis extracts against U937 cells and to study the uptake of apoptotic bodies (derived from monocytic U-937 cells) by primary meningothelial cells (PMECs).
