Application

Pyrogallol has been used for preparing endothelial cell extract for determining vitamin E content using reverse-phase HPLC. It has also been used for preparing liver extracts for retinol analysis by using HPLC.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Pyrogallol also referred to as 1,2,3-trihydroxybenzene inhibits the response to nitric oxide (NO) in the rat anococcygeus muscle.
