Dexamethasone 21-phosphate disodium salt has been used:
- as a positive control to study its effects on ocular shedding of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) in the induced reactivation (IR) and spontaneous shedding (SS) rabbit models[1]
- as a receptor analog to study its effects on glucocorticoid receptor activation in suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN)-lesioned mice[2]
- to study its protective effects against cisplatin-induced ototoxicity in the inner ear of guinea pigs[3]
Biochem/physiol Actions
Dexamethasone 21-phosphate (Dex 21-P) is a pro-drug[4] that can undergo dephosphorylation to form dexamethasone with the help of intra-erythrocyte enzymes.[5] It exhibits therapeutic effects against cystic fibrosis[4] and postoperative cataract. Dex 21-P disodium salt is a synthetic adrenal corticosteroid and possesses anti-inflammatory activity.

We planned to dissolve it into saline and use to to inject as prenatal stressor to Sprague-Dawley rats via IP way. What is the solubility? I want to dissolve 100µg and 200µg into 10ml of saline. After dissolving what is the shelf life of that solution?
