General description

Lead(II) acetate is a white crystalline compound. It is widely employed in cosmetic products. Lead acetate paper is employed for the detection of poisonous gas, hydrogen sulfide. It reacts with 5-ethynyl-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid (H2ebdc) to afford a 1D ladder network, [Pb(ebdc)(MeOH)]2·H2O.

Application

Lead(II) acetate trihydrate has been used in the preparation of PbSe-CdSe-PbSe nanodumbbells.

The mechanisms by which early chronic lead (Pb) exposure alter brain development have not been identified. We examined neuroimmune system effects in C57BL/6J mice with Pb exposure, including levels that may be common among children in lower socioeconomic income environments.
