General description
Alcian blues, are a family of polyvalent basic dyes, of which, the Alcian blue 8G has been historically the most common and the most reliable member. It is used to stain acidic polysaccharides such as glycosaminoglycans in cartilages and other body structures, some types of mucopolysaccharides, sialylated glycocalyx of cells etc. Alcian blue if often used to identify Chondrocytes from differentiated cultures of both human and rodent mesenchymal stem cells.

Storage and Stability
Store at room temperature for up to 4 months from date of receipt. If Alcian-Blue solution forms a precipitate, remove particulates by passage through a 0.22 or 0.45-micron filter.
