Description

General description

1α,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D₃ [1,25(OH)₂D₃ or calcitriol] is a metabolite of vitamin D₃. It is known to monitor calcium and phosphate metabolism in humans. It also regulates insulin secretion and induces cellular differentiation. 1α,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 (6,19,19-d₃) is a deuterated vitamin D₃ wherein C-6 and C-19 protons are replaced by deuterium.

Application

1α,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D₃ (6,19,19-d₃) can be used as an internal analytical standard for the quantification of vitamin D₃ concentration in dietary supplements, fortified foods or within a complex biological matrix
