General description

Sabouraud Dextrose Contact Agar + LTHTh - ICR is designed for the determination of the total count of yeasts and molds on dry, sanitized surfaces and personnel in Clean rooms and Isolators. Sabouraud Dextrose Medium contains digests of animal tissues (peptones) which provide a nutritious source of amino acids and nitrogenous compounds for the growth of fungi and yeasts. Dextrose is added as the energy and carbon source. The low pH favours fungal growth. The media is supplemented with the neutralisers such as Lecithin, polysorbate (Tween®) 80, histidine, sodium thiosulfate and pyruvate. The plastic plate is of pink color to differentiate between TSA and SDA media.

Application

Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a complex medium for cultivation and isolation of yeasts and molds. The media is used for surface monitoring in isolators and clean rooms.
