General description

Plate Count Agar Contact - RT is designed for the determination of the total aerobic bacteria on dry, sanitized surfaces and personnel in the non-critical area.
Plate Count Agar plates are used for the enumeration of the total viable count. The pH in the range of 6.8-7.2 is optimum for the growth of bacteria. The media is relatively rich in its nutrients and does not contain any inhibitors or indicators. The enzymatic digest of casein serves as a nitrogen source with high levels of free amino acids followed by yeast extract, which is a rich source of vitamins. The carbon source for the growth of bacteria is served by glucose, thereby providing efficient growth of bacteria.

Application

The Plate Count Agar is suitable for the determination of the total count of aerobic bacteria on dry, sanitized surfaces and personnel in the non-critical area.
