General description

Heroin, or diacetylmorphine, is an opiate analgesic most commonly used as an illcit recreational drug. Street heroin is considered to be one of the most harmful recreational drugs due to the use of adulterants and the risk of contracting disease from intravenous use. This drug reference standard is suitable for use in GC/MS or LC/MS heroin testing methods for applications in clinical toxicology, pain prescription monitoring, forensic analysis, and urine drug testing.

Application

  • Pharmaceutical grade heroin solution in analytical chemistry: Ultra-trace detection techniques using Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) for heroin showcase advancements in analytical methods, crucial for law enforcement and forensic applications, ensuring accurate substance identification (Atta and Vo-Dinh, 2023).
