Description générale

E-cadherin is a transmembrane protein that is involved in cell adhesion through the formationof adherens junctions between cells. It is expressed in cells of epithelial lineage. Anti-E-cadherin stains positively in the glandular epithelium as well as carcinomas of the gastrointestinaltract and breast. E-cadherin immunohistochemistry may also aid in the differentiation ofbreast ductal carcinomas (with membranous stain) from lobular carcinomas (with loss of themembranous stain).

We studied the pattern of E-cadherin expression in 183 invasive carcinomas (100 ductal, 42 lobular, 41 with mixed ductal and lobular features) and 198 in situ carcinomas (131 ductal, 53 lobular, 14 in situ with ductal and lobular features) by

E-cadherin is a cell-cell adhesion molecule involved in tumor progression and metastasis. We evaluated the E-cadherin expression pattern in gastric cancer and investigated its relationship to histopathological features. The expression of E-cadherin was evaluated in 83 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens of

Cadherins are a family of cell-cell adhesion proteins. The homotypic binding of cadherins is critical for cell sorting and tissue formation during organogenesis. Different cadherin subtypes show lineage specific tissue expression, which has been exploited to differentiate histologically similar tumors

This study examines the expression of E-cadherin and N-cadherin in the most common epithelial tumors of the ovary. The homotypic interactions of distinctive members of the cadherin family of cell-cell adhesion molecules segregate cells into tissues during embryonic development, and
