Description générale

Our sulfonated polysulfone proton conducting polymer features a high degree of sulfonation at 90%. This distinctive characteristic imparts higher water uptake, ionic conductivity, and ion exchange capacity compared to polymers with lower degrees of sulfonation. However, the trade-off for these enhanced properties is that membranes made from this polymer exhibit weakened mechanical properties, such as lower breaking strength and a greater swelling ratio. This product is designed for applications where superior ionic performance is prioritized over mechanical robustness.

Application

Our sulfonated polysulfone proton conducting polymer with a high degree of sulfonation at 90% is an excellent choice for applications that prioritize superior ionic conductivity and water uptake. This product is particularly well-suited for use in proton exchange membranes (PEMs) for fuel cells, redox flow batteries, and other energy storage systems where efficient proton transport and high ion exchange capacity are crucial. In cases where mechanical robustness is a priority, our polyaromatic sulfonic acid powder with a 70% degree of sulfonation may be a more suitable option. Beyond energy storage and conversion, this high-performance polymer can also be explored for alternative applications, such as water treatment membranes and filtration systems, where its exceptional ionic performance can contribute to improved removal of impurities and contaminants.

Two series of high molecular weight disulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) random copolymers were synthesized as proton exchange membranes for high-temperature water electrolyzers. These copolymers differ based on the position of the ether bonds on the aromatic rings. One series is

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the aliphatic moiety in the sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (SPAES) backbone. A new monomer (4,4'-dihydroxy-1,6-diphenoxyhexane) was synthesized and polymerized with other monomers to obtain partially alkylated SPAESs. According to
