General description

Stoddard Solvent (white spirit/mineral spirit) is a petroleum distillate composed of a complex mixture of linear and branched alkanes (paraffins), cycloalkanes, and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is widely used as a solvent in the paint industry. It is also used as a dry cleaning agent and a solvent in some types of photocopier toners, adhesives, aerosols, asphalt products, printing inks, wood preservatives, lacquers, varnishes, and industrial cleaning and degreasing applications.
