General description

The choice of coating material is based on the stationary phase of the GC.[1] Coated GC packing is done by coating a 6% carbowax -20M liquid phase on a chromosorb support. The GC column made up of this packing material is highly efficient, has low bleed and almost no active site. Furthermore it guarantees uniform packing in the column thereby leading to rapid analysis.[2]
Ready-to-use coated packing for those wanting to pack their own columns.

Application

Carbopack B or graphitized thermal carbon block (GTCB) was used for the determination of trace amounts of simazine and atrazine in water.[3] It was also used for the Gas chromatographic evaluation of the organic components present in the atmosphere at trace levels for pre-concentration of the sample.[4]

  4. What does the 80/120 stand for in the product description?

    1 answer
    1. The 80/120 refers to the mesh size range of the actual particles.  When working with mesh size: the larger the mesh number, the smaller the diameter of the particle.  In this case 80 refers to a diameter of 177 microns and 120 refers to a diameter of 125 microns.  Therefore; the particles in this product with 80/120 will range between 125 microns and 177 microns.

  5. What is the maximum temperature for this packing?

    1 answer
    1. The maximum temperature for this packing is 225 °C.
