Biochem/physiol Actions

Orally available potentiator of insulin action that significantly improves glucose tolerance in DIO mice; restores insulin-stimulated GLUT4 translocation.

Insulin sensitizer C59 is an orally available potentiator of insulin action that significantly improves glucose tolerance in DIO mice. Insulin sensitizer C59 restores insulin-stimulated GLUT4 translocation without targeting PPARγ. It acts through interaction with Unc119 proteins. C59 lowers fasting blood glucose and plasma insulin concentrations in in DIO mice.
