Biochem/physiol Actions

LIMCH1 (LIM and calponin homology domains 1) is a multidomain protein belonging to the human mosaic domain superfamily. It is composed of calponin homology (CH) domain that acts as actin binding site and the conserved cysteine rich double Zn finger possessing Lim domain. Both the domain exist as a singlet. It has been reported that these proteins may exist in several duplex and quadruplet CH containing forms. It may be involved in the cytoskeletal and signaling pathways.

In this paper, the inventory presented for singlet CH (calponin homology/actin binding) domain containing human multidomain proteins is extended to several duplex and one quadruplet CH containing forms. Invariably, the duplexes are located at the begin of the molecules. The

A sequence motif of about 100 amino acids, termed the 'calponin homology domain' has been suggested to confer actin binding to a variety of cytoskeletal and signalling molecules. Here we analyse and compare the sequences of all calponin homology domain-containing

In this paper we examine (restricted to homo sapiens) the products resulting from gene duplication and the subsequent alternative splicing for the members of a multidomain group of proteins which possess the evolutionary conserved calponin homology CH domain, i.e. an
