Application

Fetal Bovine Serum has been used as a supplement for various cell culture techniques as it provides many non-defined growth promoting and survival enhancing factor to cells in culture.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is a constituent of animal cell culture media. It contains hormones and growth factors. FBS promotes in vitro cell culture, by providing binding proteins, lipids, minerals, attachment and spreading factors.
