General description

Potassium acetate (KOAc) is the potassium salt of acetic acid. It is commonly used as a base in organic synthesis for various reactions, which include Lossen rearrangement of hydroxamic acids, E2 eliminations, deprotonations of alcohols, transition metal-catalyzed reactions, and fragmentation reactions. Additionally, KOAc is also used as a nucleophilic catalyst for addition and polymerization reactions.

Application

Potassium acetate can be used as an activating agent for the activation of carbon materials.

Features and Benefits

  • Increased efficiency – Eliminates time and effort of loosening hardened powders
  • Safety – Eliminates tools of force used to break up clumps
  • Ecology – Reduces waste as it does not stick to the packaging
  • Economy – Faster preparation and solvation increase productivity and reduce costs
  • Assured Quality – Excellent, expert-tested quality with no anti-caking agents
  • Flexible volumes – Available from research amounts to scale-up quantities
