General description

Lysine-specific demethylase 5C is also called Histone demethylase JARID1C, Jumonji/ARID domain-containing protein 1C, Protein SmcX and Protein Xe169. Lysine-specific demethylase 5C is a histone demethylase that specifically targets trimethylated and dimethylated, but not monomethylated, ′Lys-4′ of histone H3, making it a regulator of the histone code. Lysine-specific demethylase 5C is involved in transcriptional repression of neuronal genes by recruiting histone deacetylases and REST at neuron-restrictive silencer elements and is associated with Mental retardation, X-linked, syndromic, Claes-Jensen type (MRXSCJ). Lysine-specific demethylase 5C is widely expressed with highest levels found in brain and skeletal muscle.

Specificity

This antibody is expected to react with all four known isoforms based upon immunogen design.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to a region near the near the N-terminus of human Lysine-specific demethylase 5C.

Application

Detect JARID using this rabbit polyclonal antibody, Anti-Lysine-specific demethylase 5C Antibody validated for use in western blotting, IP & IHC.
Immunoprecipitation Analysis: 10 µg of this antibody immunoprecipitated Lysine-specific demethylase 5C in 10 µg of human hippocampus tissue lysate.

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected Lysine-specific demethylase 5C in human stomach tissue.
