General description
Ethane, an aliphatic hydrocarbon, is a major constituent of natural and shale gas. It is a major feedstock for the preparation of ethylene and other value-added chemicals like aromatic hydrocarbons.
Application
Ethane can be used to prepare:
- Ethylene via oxidative dehydrogenation reaction using different catalytic systems.
- Ethanol via oxidation reaction, which is catalyzed by cytochrome P450 BM3.
- Carbon nanofibers via decomposition method using nickel catalyst supported by a carbon nanotube.
Packaging
Supplied in a carbon steel lecture bottle with a CGA180M/CGA110F needle valve installed.
Compatible with the following:
Compatible with the following:
- Aldrich® lecture-bottle station systems
- Aldrich® lecture-bottle gas regulators
