Description générale

Bromomethane is a broad spectrum fumigant, which can find applications in post-harvest fumigation and pest control of several foods like spices, cereals, nuts, dried fruits, fresh fruits, vegetables, turf and also nursery crops.
Bromomethane is frequently used as fumigant. It is a liquid at room temperature which readily vaporizes into a colourless gas. It is slightly soluble in water and is freely soluble in organic solvents.

Solution of bromomethane may be used in preparation of 2-methoxyisoindoline-1,3- dione.
