PGP9.5/UCH-L1 is a member of a gene family whose products hydrolyze small C-terminal adducts of ubiquitin to generate the ubiquitin monomer. PGP9.5 is a component of the ubiquitin system, which has a fundamental role in regulating various biological activities. PGP9.5 gene encodes two opposing enzymatic activities that affect alpha-synuclein degradation and Parkinson′s disease susceptibility. Recombinant PGP9.5 protein was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Ubiquitin C-terminal Hydrolase-1 (UCHL1) is a deubiquitinating enzyme, which plays a key role in Parkinson's disease (PD). It is one of the most important proteins, which constitute Lewy body in PD patient. However, how this well folded highly soluble protein

The study aims to determinate concentrations of ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase 1 (UCHL1), which hydrolyzes amino acids from ubiquitin and cleave di-ubiquitins, in serum of children after thermal injury. 42 children scalded by hot water, managed at the Department of Pediatric
The impact of sub-concussive head hits (sub-CHIs) has been recently investigated in American football players, a population at risk for varying degrees of post-traumatic sequelae. Results show how sub-CHIs in athletes translate in serum as the appearance of reporters of
