Description générale

Trefoil factor 1(TFF1) is a member of trefoil factor family (TFF) and is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 21q22.3.[1] Recombinant human TFF1 is an 8.2kDa polypeptide containing 60 amino acid residues. TFF1 consists of trefoil motif, which is a 40-amino acid domain with three conserved disulfides.[2] TFF1 is expressed and secreted by epithelial cells in the stomach or colon mucous membrane.[3]

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Trefoil factor family (TFF) members play a vital role in mucus stabilization and stimulation of normal epithelial cell restitution during wound healing via motogenic and antiapoptotic activities.[2] TFF1 prevents anoikis, chemicals or bad-induced apoptosis by decreasing the caspase-3, caspase-6, caspase-8, and caspase-9 activities.[1] TFF1 functions as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer, whereas it acts as a tumor promoter in mucinous ovarian cancer via regulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.[2] Elevated level of TFF1 is observed in patients suffering from Chronic kidney disease (CKD). TFF1 might function as a biomarker for early detection of CKD.[4]

Forme physique

Sterile filtered and lyophilized powder.

Reconstitution

Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. The solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
