Informations sur le gène

human ... EXOSC5(56915)

Description générale

Exosome component 5 (EXOSC5) protein is a non-catalytic element of the RNA exosome complex in eukaryotes. The EXOSC5 gene is located on the human chromosome at 19q13.2.

Spécificité

Anti-EXOSC5 (N-terminal) recognizes human EXOSC5.

Immunogène

peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region of human EXOSC5, conjugated to KLH. The antibody is affinity-purified using the immunizing peptide immobilized on agarose.

Application

Anti-EXOSC5 (N-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit may be used in:
  • immunoblotting
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunofluorescence

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Exosome component 5 (EXOSC5) plays a role in the processing and degradation of RNA. This protein also plays a role in cleaving the DNA during apoptosis. EXOSC5 possesses a 3′-5′ exoribonuclease activity. Overexpression of the EXOSC5 gene is associated with several cancers such as melanoma, prostate, colorectal and lung cancer.

Forme physique

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Stockage et stabilité

For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. Forextended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

Although high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection plays a major role in the development of cervical cancer, additive oncogenic events are involved as well. One key event involves increased activity of telomerase resulting from a deregulated expression of its catalytic subunit
