Description générale

Tensin 1, also known as TNS1, is a member of tensin protein family. Tensins are multi domain proteins containing homologous C1, protein phosphatases (PTPases), C2, Src homology 2 (SH2) domains and pTyr-binding (PTB) domains. Tensin 1 mRNA is widely expressed in mouse embryo and various human adult tissues and is localized to focal adhesions.

Immunogène

synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence located in the internal region of human tensin1, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in rat and mouse tensin1.

Application

Anti-Tensin 1 (internal) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Tensins play an important role in regulating cell shape and motility. Tensin 1 is involved in organizing the actin cytoskeleton and mediating signal transduction. TNS1 is implicated in myofibroblast differentiation. In addition, it also helps myofibroblasts to form nascent fibronectin and collagen matrix.

Forme physique

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
