NLR family, pyrin domain containing 6 (NLRP6) maybe part of the inflammasome. It belongs to the Nod-like receptor family and is expressed in intestinal epithelial cells.
Actions biochimiques/physiologiques
NLR family, pyrin domain containing 6 (NLRP6) has a role in innate immunity. It also maintains intestinal homeostasis by modulating autophagy and mucus secretion. Loss of NLRP6 has been shown to hinder the production of interleukin-18 (IL-18) and enhance susceptibility to epithelial-induced injury in rats.

The crosstalk between the host's inflammasome system and the invading virulent/less-virulent viruses determines the outcome of the ensuing inflammatory response. An appropriate activation of inflammasomes triggers antiviral inflammatory responses that clear the virus and heal the inflamed tissue. However, an
Maintaining host iron homeostasis is an essential component of nutritional immunity responsible for sequestrating iron from pathogens and controlling infection. Nucleotide-oligomerization domain-like receptors (NLRs) contribute to cytoplasmic sensing and antimicrobial response orchestration. However, it remains unknown whether and how NLRs
Non-typhoidal Salmonella infection is among the most frequent foodborne diseases threatening human health worldwide. The host circadian clock orchestrates daily rhythms to adapt to environmental changes, including coordinating immune function in response to potential infections. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying
