Description générale

Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have the potential to be applied towards next generation electronics and energy applications. Graphene itself does not possess band gap energy and its usage is limited. However, when their size becomes as small as quantum dots, they exhibit photoluminescence in the ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared ranges. The size of graphene quantum dots ranges approximately 1-4 nm. Due to their quantum confinement effect, GQDs can be applied to photovoltaic devices such as solar cells, bio imaging (cancer cell imaging, protein analysis, cell tracking), various type of sensors, etc.

Application

  • Bio-imaging.
  • Photocatalysis.
  • LED.
  • Energy conversion.
  • Sensing.

Properties, synthesis & applications of Graphene Quantum Dots explained. GQDs have advantages of nontoxicity, good solubility, stable photoluminescence & better surface grafting.

Graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) are quasi-one-dimensional narrow strips of graphene comprised of sp2-hybridized carbon atoms arranged into hexagonal honeycomb lattice configurations.

Questions

1–6 sur 6 questions
  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 réponse
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 réponse
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  3. Could you clarify the concentration of >0.005% in H2O part. Does that mean >50ppm? What is the concentration in ppm (and FWHM, ex/em)?

    1 réponse
    1. Yes, the 0.005% is equivalent to 50 ppm. The exact concentration in wt% is tested on a lot-to-lot basis and published in the Certificate of Analysis. The value can be converted to ppm using equation as wt% x 1,000,000 = ppm. Unfortunately, the FWHM and λex/λem is not determined.

  4. 900560: Liquid GQDs with a concentration of greater than 0.005% in H2O and a quantum yield of more than 50%. What is the concentration of the stock solution?

    1 réponse
    1. The concentration of this product varies from lot to lot and is reported in the product Certificate of Analysis as 'Residue on Evaporation. A survey of recent batches indicates a general range of 0.12 - 0.22%. Please see the link below to review a sample or lot specific Certificate:

  5. Is the fluorescence of this product the same as that of another product 900708? λex 350 nm; λem 445 nm FWHM 65 nm, quantum yield >65%

    1 réponse
    1. The Graphene QD product 900708, λex 350 nm; λem 445 nm Full Width Half Max (FWHM) 65 nm, does not offer a single excitation or emission to use for this product. This QD exhibits strong emission light when 400 nm - 460 nm light is illuminated, primarily at 400 nm. The 900560, Graphene QD solution, >0.005% in H2O, again, does not have a specified single excitation or emission value. Emission varies by wavelength as demonstrated in the image below:

    1 réponse
    1. These quantum dots are blue from UV to the visible light range.
