Application

All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. Biochem/physiol Actions

FLII (flightless I actin binding protein) gene is present in the gene loci of Smith-Magenis syndrome (SMS), which is characterized by short stature, delay in development, brachydactyly, dysmorphism in features, behavioral and sleep problems. One copy of FLI gene is deleted in SMS. In response to cytoplasmic-calcium changes, this protein might control the dynamics of actin cytoskeleton. This protein plays an important role in the early development of embryo. In mice, mutants for this protein initiate implantation in vivo, but undergo rapid degeneration. FLII suppresses cytokine production and negatively regulates Toll-Like Receptor (TLR) signaling. This protein facilitates the open chromatin structure of estrogen receptor (ER)α target genes in MCF-7 breast cancer cells.
