Bis-Tris Bicine EDTA buffer or Bis-Tris buffer (pH 7.2) contains Bis-Tris and Bicine, zwitterionic buffer components that form strong bonds with common metals. In combination with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), a metal chelator, that binds divalent cations. This buffer is commonly used as a transfer buffer in western blot to transfer proteins from the gel to the membrane.
Application
Bis-Tris buffer may be used in western blot as a transfer buffer.

Ready-to-use buffer
No measuring and pH adjustment needed
Certified quality for reproducibility
Minimizes exposure to toxic chemicals
Biological tests: free of DNase, RNase, Protease, and Nickase
Chemical tests: Iron ≤10 ppm, Lead ≤5 ppm
Packaging
Foil pouches
Reconstitution
Contents of one pouch, when dissolved in 500 mL of ultrapure water, will yield a 1X solution containing 25 mM Bicine, 25 mM Bis-Tris, 1 mM EDTA, pH 7.2 at 25 °C. Contents tested to be DNAse, RNAse, Protease, and Nickase free.
Storage and Stability
Store at room temperature. Product may naturally agglomerate but can be simply broken up within the pouch prior to use.
