General description

Ceftiofur is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, which is commonly used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of respiratory diseases and bacterial infections in farm animals.

Application

Ceftiofur has been used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in:
  • Milk samples using receptor binding assays such as Betastar Combo, SNAP, and Twinsensor tests.
  • Environmental water samples using capillary electrophoresis.
