General description

3-Azido-1-propanol is an azide-containing reagent utilized in Strain-Promoted Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition reactions (SPAAC). This enables selective and copper-free click chemistry modifications of biomolecules.[1]

Application

3-Azido-1-propanol is used as a:
  • Precursor in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds like dihydrooxazines[2]
  • Reagent in the synthesis of heterofunctional polyesters by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition[3]
