General description

Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from codeine or thebaine, two naturally-occurring opiates. The drug, also known as dihydrocodeinone, is used as an analgesic to treat pain and as an antitussive for coughing or related conditions. This Certified Spiking Solution® is suitable as a starting material for calibrators or controls in GC/MS or LC/MS testing applications from pharmaceutical research and pain prescription monitoring to clinical toxicology and forensic analysis.

Application

  • Hydrocodone Bitartrate ER: A Review in Chronic Pain.: This comprehensive review evaluates the extended-release formulation of hydrocodone, focusing on its pharmacological properties, therapeutic efficacy, and clinical applications in managing chronic pain, which underscores its significance in long-term pain management strategies (Dhillon S, 2016).

Hydrocodone is frequently prescribed for moderate to severe pain. Nicotine has analgesic properties and it is hypothesized that cigarette smoking might decrease the dosage of hydrocodone needed for the relief of chronic pain. This would be a topic of importance
How well can urine hydrocodone measurements discriminate between different hydrocodone prescription dosage rates?

A number of studies indicate that 10.8%-34% of patients with chronic pain use illicit drugs. One hypothesis for this occurrence is that some patients may be supplementing their prescription medications with illicit drugs. The primary purpose of this retrospective data
