Application

Cobalt(II) sulfate heptahydrate can be used in different applications.

  • Cobalt(II) sulphate heptahydrate catalyses the formation of -acetamido ketones via a one-pot multi-component reaction coupling aromatic aldehyde, acetophenone, and acetyl chloride in acetonitrile.
  • It was used to synthesis the bimetallic magnetic nanomaterial CoPt3, which was used to study ferromagnetic phase transitions from solid solution alloy to chemical ordering phase using XAS.
  • Furthermore, heterogeneous OER catalysts (CoOx, CoPi, CoFeOx) were synthesized by using Cobalt(II) sulphate heptahydrate for water oxidation which has the importannce for solar water-splitting devices, water electrolyzers, and Li-air batteries.
