Anti-Parathyroid Hormone antibody detects endogenous levels of total parathyroid hormone protein.
The PTH (parathyroid hormone) gene is mapped to human chromosome 11p15.3.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Parathyroid Hormone.
Immunogen Range: 51-100
Biochem/physiol Actions
PTH (parathyroid hormone) significantly maintains calcium and phosphate homeostasis. The function of PTH is brought about by PTH receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor. Upregulation of PTH is observed in hyperparathyroidism, which leads to hypertension, bone and cardiovascular disease. PTH is also known to improve fracture healing.
